About the Role:Cover People are currently recruiting for a Maths Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Tameside, starting from September 2026 for a full term as a minimum.
This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers and experienced educators to teach Maths across KS3 and GCSE within a supportive and forward-thinking school. The school has established behaviour systems, a strong pastoral structure and a leadership team that is committed to staff development and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative Maths department that is focused on delivering engaging lessons, improving student outcomes and developing confidence in Mathematics across all ability levels. Staff are encouraged to share best practice and are provided with the resources and support needed to thrive in the classroom.
ECTs will benefit from experienced mentors and a welcoming team environment, whilst experienced teachers will have the opportunity to contribute to curriculum development and play a key role in maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
M1–M6 Teachers will be paid to scale from day one.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality Maths teaching in line with national curriculum standards
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and GCSE Maths
- Monitor and assess pupil progress effectively
- Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
- Differentiated learning to support students of varying abilities and needs
- Support the academic and personal development of all learners
- Contribute positively to department planning and wider school initiatives
- QTS or equivalent UK teaching qualification
- Experience teaching KS3 & GCSE Maths
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A passion for teaching and raising pupil attainment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Right to work in the UK
- Hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Provide two professional references
