Learning Support Assistant – KS2

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Tameside.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing. Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you will play an important role in helping pupils overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve their full potential.
The RoleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide support to pupils across the primary age range.
- Work with individuals and small groups to support learning and development.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Support pupils with additional learning needs, including SEND where required.
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
- Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Support children socially, emotionally and academically throughout the school day.
- Is passionate about helping children succeed.
- Has a caring, patient and supportive approach.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils.
- Is confident working with children with a range of abilities and needs.
- Has excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Works well as part of a team and can use their own initiative.
- Has previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work or similar setting (desirable).
Experience supporting children with SEND, autism, ADHD or additional needs would be advantageous, but a willingness to learn and a genuine passion for supporting young people are equally valued.
