Smile Education is working with a welcoming and ambitious primary school in Hyde, Greater Manchester, to recruit a dedicated Primary Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

Situated in the Tameside area, Hyde offers a well-connected location with a strong local community and easy access to surrounding areas including Denton, Dukinfield, Stalybridge and Ashton-under-Lyne. The area combines a traditional town-centre feel with plenty of green spaces and access to the beautiful Peak District, making it an attractive location for teachers looking for opportunities across East Manchester and the wider Greater Manchester area.

The Opportunity

As a Primary Teacher, you will play a key role in creating an exciting and purposeful learning environment where children feel confident, supported and motivated to achieve.

You will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons.
  • Adapting teaching to meet different abilities and learning needs.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour and pupil engagement.
  • Assessing and monitoring children's progress and attainment.
  • Providing appropriate support and challenge to ensure pupils reach their potential.
  • Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils.
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and colleagues.
  • Communicating effectively with parents, carers and other professionals.
  • Contributing to school events, activities and the wider school community.
What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • Recent experience teaching within a UK primary school.
  • A minimum of 6 months' UK classroom experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • The ability to create engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • A nurturing, enthusiastic and positive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
  • A genuine passion for helping children learn, grow and succeed.
  • ECTs are encouraged to apply where they have relevant UK classroom experience and the opportunity is appropriate for their career stage.
Essential Requirements

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • QTS or a recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • At least 6 months' UK classroom experience.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Smile Education.
  • Two years of satisfactory employment and/or education references.
  • At least one suitable reference relating to working with children.
  • Completion of all required safeguarding and compliance checks.
