Level 2 Teaching Assistant
Location: Hyde, Tameside, Greater Manchester
Salary: £95-£120 per day (supply) / £18,525-£23,400 per annum (195 days, permanent)
Contract: Day-to-Day & Long-Term, Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP
We are recruiting Level 2 Teaching Assistants for primary schools in Hyde, Tameside
, with day-to-day, long-term and permanent opportunities available now. This role suits a reliable, caring TA who enjoys supporting pupils in the classroom and wants regular work in a school close to home.
- Support individuals and small groups of pupils to access learning, under the direction of the class teacher
- Provide support for pupils on the SEN register, including those with SEND support plans or EHCPs
- Deliver phonics, reading, writing and maths interventions as directed by the class teacher
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and be a calm, consistent role model
- Support pupils' behaviour, confidence and personal, social and emotional development
- Attend to pupils' personal and pastoral needs, including minor first aid where trained
- Supervise pupils during playtime, lunchtime and outdoor activities
- Help prepare classroom resources and displays
- Follow school safeguarding procedures at all times
- NVQ Level 2 (or working towards) for Teaching Assistants, or equivalent qualification/experience
- Experience supporting children in a school, nursery or similar setting (EYFS, KS1 or KS2)
- Calm, patient and flexible approach
- Good communication skills with pupils, staff and parents
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths desirable)
- Willingness to undertake relevant training, including SEND and safeguarding
A fully enhanced DBS and two professional references covering the last two years are required.
