Cover People are recruiting a Pastoral Support Assistant for a specialist secondary SEMH school in Tameside.
You'll work with small groups of pupils, supporting their behaviour, wellbeing and engagement while helping them access a practical, vocational curriculum.
The school has a strong focus on intervention, rewards and enrichment, giving pupils opportunities to build confidence, develop life skills and experience success.
There is also genuine temp-to-perm potential for the right person.
What You'll Do- Build strong, positive relationships with secondary-aged pupils.
- Provide pastoral, emotional and behavioural support.
- Support small groups and individual pupils.
- Help deliver interventions, activities and enrichment.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
- Support pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence.
- Help pupils access practical and vocational learning.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff.
- Experience supporting young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
- Previous experience in education, youth work, mentoring, care or similar.
- Calm, patient and confident managing challenging situations.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Resilient, consistent and positive in your approach.
- A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

£100–£120 per day DOE | Start ASAP | Full-time & Long-term | could go Temp-to-Perm
All pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay where applicable.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications/experience and will be offered work subject to successfully completing Cover People's compliance checks.
