Planner / Planning Engineer
Location:
East Manchester (With Hybrid Working)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,00 Plus Excellent Benefits Package
Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominately in the water industry, who are delivering a number of water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects for United Utilities and they are recruiting for a Planner to be based from one of their major projects in East Manchester with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Planning Manager and you will be a member of the project planning team, driving the project team to deliver to the plan and challenge any delay and deviation. Working with Senior Planners who can offer coaching and guiding for your ongoing development into a planning expert and help drive out performance amongst the team.
Responsibilities:
Collaboratively develop and maintain robust detailed project plans for the full project lifecycle.
Ensure project plans capture the full project scope and resources are considered and loaded as required.
Implementing Last Planner techniques.
Pro-actively identify opportunities and risks in the plan and monitor the critical path and key milestones, advising the delivery team on any potential changes.
Review and challenge supply chain programmes and ensure these are monitored and incorporated with the main project plan.
Develop programmes in line with planning procedures including but not limited to;
Implementation of all required project and activity codes
Baseline management
Production of programme narrative for submission to client
Schedule quality and integrity checks completed periodically.
Skills, Qualifications &
Experience:
Experience of working on relevant projects within the Water Industry.
Primavera P6 & MS Project planning software experience
Understand collaborative planning processes, you'll have the ability to:
Interrogate drawings to implement efficient planning service to the business.
Support detailed claims programme development and implement any contractual changes to the programme.
Good ability to communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences.
Working in a pressurised situations to tight deadlines will be crucial.
Adaptable as required to meet project objectives.
Desired but not mandatory for this position is a technical degree in a relevant field
