Technical Support Officer

SCP 10 £27,694 | Hours per week: 36 | Base location:
Tameside One | Assessment date: W/C 16th March 2026.
The Role: We are looking to recruit a Technical Support Officer to join our busy Technical Support Team to deliver an excellent customer‑focused Planning, Building Control & Land Charges service.

• Provide technical support to the Building Control service.
• Assist with Technical Support to the Planning, Policy, Enforcement and Land Charges services through processing applications and supporting professional teams.
• Work in a hybrid model, attending the Council’s offices at Tameside One and Ashton under Lyne on a regular basis.

• Organised, analytical and confident with excellent IT skills.
• High levels of care and accuracy in work.
• Flexible approach to work, great people skills, ability to work under pressure in a fast‑moving environment.
• Willingness to support change and innovation.
• Knowledge of Building Control functions and experience in a Planning/Building Control environment (ideal).
