Location: Mottram in Longdendale
We’re working with a well-established manufacturer, based near Hadfield in Derbyshire, one we’ve partnered with for many, many years. They’re looking for a Trainee Production Manager to take responsibility for a defined area of the plant. You’ll be supported as you grow into the role but trusted with real responsibility from day one.
This would suit someone a few years post-grad with hands-on shop floor experience, confidence in their ability, and a genuine desire to build a long-term career in manufacturing leadership.

About you
* You’re motivated, positive and ready to learn
* You’ve got 3–5 years’ experience in a hands-on manufacturing environment
* Graduate calibre, ideally with a degree in engineering (or related)
* A real interest in developing a career in manufacturing leadership
* You’re confident, data-driven and enjoy problem-solving
* You lead by example and can build trust with people at all levels
* You bring energy, enthusiasm, and you enjoy being part of the action on the shop floor
* It would be beneficial if you’ve got an IOSH qualification.
About the Role
Reporting to the Plant/Operations Manager, you’ll take ownership of safety, performance and people within your area.
* Take ownership of a defined production area, looking after your people, performance and safety
* You’ll inspire, coach and develop a team, always driving continuous improvement and H&S
* Safety will always come first, and you’ll play a key role in creating a positive, engaged working environment
* Lead by example when it comes to safety and standards on the shop floor
* Support your team to deliver production targets, balancing quality, cost and efficiency
* Work closely with engineering to keep equipment running smoothly and reliably
