About the role
The Hyde Group, a leading provider of aerospace, nuclear, energy and scientific engineering solutions, is seeking a GRP Laminator to join our North West Aerotooling team in Dukinfield. The role offers a competitive salary, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), and a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities- Carry out material lay‑up work using pre‑impregnated carbon fibre, glass fibre and wet lay‑up techniques.
- Prepare, handle and apply composite materials accurately in line with job requirements, work instructions and quality standards.
- Complete vacuum bagging, curing and autoclave preparation processes to support the manufacture of high‑quality composite components.
- Work from technical drawings, templates and production documentation to ensure components are manufactured to specification.
- Inspect finished work for quality, accuracy and consistency, reporting any issues or defects to the relevant team member.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area, following all company health, safety and housekeeping standards.
- Support the wider production team with additional manufacturing tasks where required.
- Previous experience in laminating, composites, aerospace, automotive, marine or high‑quality manufacturing environment.
- Hands‑on experience with carbon fibre, glass fibre, pre‑preg materials or wet lay‑up processes (advantageous).
- Experience following technical drawings, job cards, work instructions or standard operating procedures.
- Background in producing work to tight tolerances, quality standards and customer specifications.
- Experience using hand tools, cutting equipment, trimming tools or basic workshop equipment.
- Understanding of vacuum bagging, curing, bonding, finishing or inspection processes (beneficial).
- Strong awareness of health, safety, housekeeping and quality control within a production setting.
