Staff Nurse - Critical Care | Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

• To assess, plan implement and evaluate nursing care for patient and their families
• Assist in the management and organisation of work as required in the clinical area

• Administer medications, intravenous therapies and blood products in accordance with local policies and the NMC Code.
• Operate and monitor specialist critical care equipment, including cardiac monitors, infusion devices, ventilators and haemodynamic monitoring systems (following appropriate training and competency assessment).
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in ward rounds, handovers and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Support the delivery of compassionate, patient-centred care and advocate for patients and families during periods of critical illness.
• Contribute to infection prevention, patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities.
• Actively engage in ongoing professional development and completion of critical care competencies.

Care for patients requiring Level 2 and Level 3 critical care support.

Managing complex medication regimes and infusions.

Undertaking arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation (where trained).

Supporting patients receiving respiratory support, including non-invasive ventilation and invasive ventilation.

Providing emotional support to families during challenging situations
