  • Monday to Thursday: 07:45am - 17:00pm
  • Friday: 07:45am - 10:45pm

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Inspector to join our client who are a well established precision engineering firm based in Tameside. With a strong reputation for quality and reliability, they specialise in the manufacture of high-precision components for a variety of industries. The company operates from a modern facility and is committed to continuous improvement, investing in both advanced machinery and the development of its workforce.

They maintain a strong focus on delivering products that meet exacting customer standards, supported by a dedicated quality control team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform formal evaluations and inspections of machined products at various stages (first-off, patrol, and final inspections) to ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures and quality standards.
  • Accurately record all measurements and inspection checks.
  • Identify and respond to quality issues as they arise.
  • Report quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assess feasibility of rework and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Liaise with internal departments to promote the delivery of high-quality products.
  • Work cooperatively with team members and accept constructive feedback from management.
Qualifications
  • Fully time-served engineer
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proficient in using manual measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and height gauges
  • Ability to reverse engineer and create detailed reports from samples
  • Experience in completing customer documentation
  • Familiar with the control and calibration of inspection, measuring, and test equipment per company procedures
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Skilled in producing clear, concise written reports
  • Capable of working to both company and customer quality plans
