Senior Quality Engineer

We're working exclusively with a well-established welding and fabrication business that supplies into aerospace, defence, and other regulated sectors. Known for their strong quality culture and skilled workforce, they’re now looking to strengthen their team with an experienced Senior Quality Engineer at their Dukinfield site.

About the role:
This is a key hire in the Quality function. You’ll lead assurance activities across fabrication, welding, and NDT operations, ensuring compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. If you enjoy being on the shop floor, solving problems, mentoring others, and making real improvements – this one’s for you.
You'll also take ownership of:
* Internal, external & customer audits
* FAIRs, PPAP, APQP documentation and reviews
* Supplier quality and non-conformance management
* Root cause analysis (8D, 5-Whys, Ishikawa etc.)
* Supporting NPI projects and risk mitigation
* Mentoring Inspectors and liaising with cross-functional teams
What you’ll need:
* 5+ years in a Quality Engineering role within aerospace, fabrication, or welding environments
* Strong working knowledge of ISO standards or standards from regulated sectors such as ASME, ATEX, AS9100, IATF
16949 etc
* Confident with FAIRs, PPAPs, customer specs, and problem-solving tools
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and work hands-on with production
* Strong communicator with the confidence to lead audits and engage with customers
Bonus if you bring:
* HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering
* Lead Auditor (AS9100 or ISO 9001)
* Six Sigma Green Belt
* Experience using QMS tools (Q-Pulse or similar)
