Overview

At Pennine Care we believe in investing in our own workforce and encouraging internal development, which is why we are now looking for a new apprentice maintenance assistant specialising in plumbing to join the team. If you’re looking for an apprenticeship in plumbing and heating and have a passion to join the NHS, we would welcome your application. You will be joining a friendly, professional and experienced team of estates site leads and estates services technicians to support you on your apprenticeship journey, whilst being given dedicated time to complete your studies and apprenticeship.

You will be working across all our sites, which include offices, mental health in-patient wards, clinics and other community settings. As you become more competent, you will be required to join the estates on call out-of-hours service. The main focus of the job will be completion of the level 3 plumbing and domestic heating technician apprenticeship, whilst gaining valuable experience across wider maintenance services to provide a comprehensive and responsive multi‑skilled maintenance service across all building trades.

You will have a base but be expected to work at any site as required across the Trust’s footprint. The apprenticeship will be undertaken in collaboration with an approved training provider and includes both classroom sessions, as well as assessment within their workplace environment. Apprentices complete a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate their learning and skills in practice in line with the apprenticeship standards.
