We have vacancies for Newly Qualified Social Workers across Children’s Services in Tameside.
We offer a supportive, nurturing ASYE year through our Social Work Academy, where you’ll be guided by a dedicated Advanced Practice Lead, alongside support from your Team Manager and Senior Practitioner. You will receive a bespoke induction that prepares you to work with children and families, as well as reflective supervision, specialist training, peer learning, coaching and mentoring, dedicated study time and a reduced caseload.

You are a newly qualified social worker ready to champion our Heart of Support Practice Approach and begin your career grounded in strong, compassionate, relationship‑based practice. You bring curiosity, care and a commitment to learning, and you’re eager to develop your skills within an environment that nurtures, supports and invests in you.
You understand the importance of working alongside children and families with compassion, approaching each situation with empathy and respect. All appointments will be to the bottom salary point in the grade with annual incremental progression each April until the grade maximum is reached. Where an individual can provide evidence that their existing salary in a relevant role surpasses the grade starting salary, a higher entry salary will be considered, subject to the professional grade development criteria also being met if that point is higher than the bar point.
