Tax & Treasury Accountant role focusing on Sales/Use and property tax compliance, planning, accounting, and audit support.
Responsibilities- Primary
Job Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance- Prepare all required Sales/Use and property tax returns
- Monthly, Quarterly, Annually as necessary
- Responsible for ensuring all payments are made accurately and timely
- Other
Job Responsibilities:
Tax Planning- Research potential sale/use tax issues as required (e.g., taxability of purchases in various states)
- Work with consultants to explore appeals related to property and real estate taxes
- Monitor changes in state tax law
- Accounting
- Responsible for budgeting the sales/use and property tax accruals and reconciling the various accounts on a monthly basis
- Audit support
- Responsible for handling all state and local tax examinations
- Experience with AS400 preferred
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- 2 or more years of public accounting and/or relevant industry experience
- Mid-Senior level
