Are you a hands-on Staff Accountant professional looking for a new challenge? We are working with a whole organization seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team based in Tampa, FL. This is an incredible opportunity for a Staff Accountant to be involved directly with Senior Management and involved in process improvement projects.
Salary/Hourly Rate$65k - $80k
Position OverviewThe Staff Accountant will be reporting directly to the Controller and primarily assisting in general assurance that accounting is accurate, specifically during the month-end close. The Staff Accountant will take ownership of GL activities and must be technically strong and comfortable taking ownership of their respective financials. In addition, the Staff Accountant should be familiar with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Responsibilities- Responsible for ensuring that general ledgers and entries for multiple entities within the parent company are maintained and accurate.
- Ensure all daily cash transactions and bank reconciliations are performed across multiple entities.
- Research accounts and transactions on a daily, monthly, and annual basis with variance analysis, providing support schedules.
- Responsible and involved in preparing fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
- Responsible for accurate and complete month-end journal entries as assigned to ensure the deadline is met each month.
- Perform all balance sheet reconciliations as assigned to account for and ensure deadlines are met during the month-end close period.
- Responsible for processing and reconciling intercompany transactions.
- Responsible for preparing and performing year-end audit and tax schedules.
- Assist other Staff Accountants in the implementation and ongoing process improvement and process enhancement initiatives throughout the department, when necessary.
- Requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Requires a minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience.
- Proficiency in MS Dynamics Navision and/or ERP software is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, V/H LOOKUPs, sum if, formulas, etc.) is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent related business degree is required.
