Location

Tampa, FL on‑site in South Tampa to start, with the opportunity to move into a flexible hybrid schedule once you are fully trained and the team feels comfortable with your work. Candidates must already live in the greater Tampa area and be able to commute to the office.

Note

To be considered, you must have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, an active CPA or EA license, at least 5+ years of recent tax preparation experience in public accounting (individual, corporate, and partnership returns), and be able to work on‑site in Tampa, with some evenings and weekends during tax season.

Job Description
  • Manage, review, and sign complex tax returns for individuals and small to midsize businesses using Drake Tax.
  • Oversee preparation and review of 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120‑S, 1041, and 990 tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead tax planning and consulting engagements, identifying savings opportunities and proactive strategies for clients.
  • Evaluate and clearly communicate tax liabilities, implications, and recommendations to clients.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise tax staff; review their work and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Collaborate with partners and team members to resolve complex tax issues and client questions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive, professional communication.
  • Recommend additional firm services when appropriate to add value for clients and support firm growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting required.
  • Active CPA or EA license required.
  • 5+ years of recent tax preparation experience in public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of individual, corporate, and partnership taxation.
  • Experience with Drake Tax and Quick Books Online preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with a client‑service mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, including evenings and weekends during tax season.
  • Self‑starter with strong technical, computer, and organizational skills and high attention to detail.
