Accounting Associate

Aston Carter is seeking an Accounting Associate to support the finance team with account maintenance, tax compliance, and financial reporting.

• Assist with preparing, reviewing, and filing sales and use tax returns.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable state and local tax regulations.
• Accurately and promptly prepare and post journal entries.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support implementation and ongoing compliance with ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
• Gather and report data for lease-related transactions.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain accurate financial reporting.
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; ERP experience is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, including debits and credits.
• Experienced with journal entries and knowledgeable in sales and use tax.

Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.

Pay range: $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
