Senior Accountant

$70000 - $80000 per year | Tampa, FL | On-site | Permanent

An established benefits technology company is seeking a hands‑on accounting professional to manage premium receipts, payments, and reconciliations while supporting general ledger activities and month‑end close.

This position is well suited for someone with strong AP/AR experience who enjoys investigating discrepancies, maintaining accurate records, and taking ownership of detailed accounting work.

• Record and reconcile client premium receipts and payments to insurance carriers.
• Investigate partial payments, outstanding balances, and discrepancies between expected and actual funds.
• Perform daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate records in Net Suite and proprietary systems.
• Prepare account reconciliations and support a five‑day month‑end close.
• Maintain transaction documentation and develop procedures for recurring activities.
• Process monthly, quarterly, and annual state filings.
• Support annual audits and partner with accounting leadership to improve accuracy and efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• At least three years of relevant accounting experience, including strong AP/AR and reconciliation responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and month‑end close.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyze large transaction datasets.
• Net Suite experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, follow‑through, and comfort resolving payment discrepancies.
• Willingness to remain hands‑on with daily transactional accounting.
