Senior Tax Accountant

Job Description:

Senior Tax Accountant Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join their growing finance and tax team in the Tampa Bay area. This individual will assist with corporate tax compliance, tax provision activities, and various tax-related reporting requirements while supporting a multi-state and potentially international business environment. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors while contributing to process improvements and tax planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax filings and related compliance obligations. Support quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and tax reporting activities. Prepare tax-related account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules. Assist with estimated tax payments and filing requirements across multiple jurisdictions. Coordinate with external tax advisors and consultants to support compliance and reporting initiatives.

Research tax regulations and assist with responding to tax notices, inquiries, and audits. Support various indirect tax, franchise tax, property tax, and other business tax filings as needed. Analyze and maintain tax-related data to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance controls, and streamline tax workflows. Partner with Accounting, Finance, and other departments to gather information and support business initiatives with tax implications.

Contribute to special projects, system enhancements, and continuous improvement efforts within the tax function. Maintain organized documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Master's degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a related discipline preferred. Minimum of 3+ years of progressive tax or accounting experience.

Experience with corporate tax compliance, tax provision, or related tax functions preferred. Understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with large datasets and complex workbooks. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA certification or progress toward certification preferred. Experience in a corporate tax department, public accounting firm, or a combination of both. Exposure to multi-state tax environments and complex organizational structures. Experience working with tax software, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools. Familiarity with process improvement initiatives, automation tools, or system implementations. Workstyle:
