The FOIA/Privacy Act Support Specialist ensures MARCENT complies with federal law in processing Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act requests. This role is responsible for reviewing and redacting records to protect sensitive or exempted information, coordinating with legal advisors on the application of exemptions, and maintaining complete records of requests for auditing and accountability. The specialist applies detailed knowledge of FOIA/Privacy Act statutes and DoD guidance to ensure timely, accurate responses while safeguarding classified or personally identifiable information.
Additionally, the FOIA/Privacy Act Support Specialist supports process improvement initiatives and provides advisory input to leadership on information disclosure practices. By combining legal awareness with administrative precision, the role upholds transparency while protecting MARCENT’s mission and compliance with federal requirements.

- Process FOIA and Privacy Act requests, ensuring responses are completed in compliance with federal law.
- Review and redact documents to protect sensitive or exempted information.
- Work with legal advisors to ensure proper application of exemptions and disclosure rules.
- Maintain records of FOIA/Privacy Act requests for auditing and accountability.
- Assist in developing MARCENT FOIA/Privacy Act procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Provide training or guidance to MARCENT personnel on FOIA/Privacy Act responsibilities.
- Support coordination with higher headquarters or external agencies regarding complex FOIA/Privacy Act cases.
- Ensure all FOIA/Privacy Act requests and responses are archived in compliance with records management policies.
- Maintain compliance with DoD and MARCENT policies on records retention and privacy.

Education & Experience- 7-10 years of experience in federal administrative or legal support processes, FOIA response, or records management.
- Knowledge of FOIA/Privacy Act processes and statutes.
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Ability to organize case files and handle deadlines.
- Secret clearance required.
- Familiarity with DoD FOIA/Privacy Act guidance and exemption criteria.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for case management and reporting.
- Strong research skills for reviewing and analyzing sensitive documents.
- Effective communication skills for working with legal advisors and responding to requesters.
Primary workplace is MARCENT Headquarters, Mac Dill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida.
Office environment within a joint military/civilian/contractor staff. Position requires handling sensitive documents and coordination with legal advisors.
Primarily sedentary work with extensive document review and computer-based processing.
Work ScheduleFull-time, 40 hours per week. Monday–Friday, 0800–1600.
License & Other RequirementsValid U.S. Driver’s License. Eligibility for issuance of a Common Access Card.
