- Experienced Estimator with experience in FDOT and local Tampa Bay Area municipalities.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques.> /li>
- Experience in estimating software Heavy Bid.
- Proficiency in takeoff software Plan Swift program and/or Bluebeam.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in cost control measures.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, contracts, and specifications effectively.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to organize and manage the tasks and responsibilities individually.
- A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Time management skills are important as this role will require working on multiple estimates at a time.
- Analyze contract documents to cost estimates for construction projects.
- Utilize estimating software such as Heavy Bid to create detailed estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure accurate pricing and scope of work.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary data for estimates.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques to provide informed estimates.
- Reports to the VP of FDOT division.
