Commercial Roofing Estimator

Purpose of the Job:
Provide commercial roofing job costs estimates

Job Duties:

Prepare estimates in prearranged time schedule specific for each job that are accurate and competitive. Calculate square footages and geometrical properties of buildings to produce an estimate of material costs. Analyze job information from field techs, recommend appropriate design given requirements of governing bodies. Contact vendors for current pricing. Contact manufacturers for special requirements for various materials. Work w/ manufacturers to obtain special pricing/deviations from standard spec to put us in competitive position.

Maintain knowledge of each specifications and requirement for specific jobs. Develop knowledge of roofing system specs from our major manufacturers and product lines available. Remain current on the latest requirements and on industry technology and market trends. Prepare subcontract contract pricing. Provide the project manager with an allowance for sub labor on jobs where needed. Analyze the field sketch to detect errors or missing information.

Skills and

Qualifications:

2-5 years experience in estimating commercial roofing Commercial roofing field experience preferred Must have Edge Estimating System- version 12 experience General commercial roofing knowledge

Education:

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED

Experience with Microsoft office products Excellent written skills to create clear and concise documentation
