AECOM is seeking a highly motivated and experienced CEI Senior Building Inspector to join our Transportation Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team in Tampa, Florida
. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of infrastructure and transportation projects, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Being fully knowledgeable of all aspects of building construction, including masonry work and familiarization with local and State building codes and ordinances
- Performing under the general supervision of the Project Administrator
- Relying on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Setting own project deadlines
- Providing on‑job training to new employees
- Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties
- Performing daily field inspections and maintaining inspection records
- Participating in punch lists, testing, and commissioning
- Tracking quality assurance progress
- Providing input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers
- Coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project compliance and timely resolution of issues
- Conducting regular safety inspections and enforcing safety protocols on construction sites
- Reviewing and interpreting complex construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Preparing detailed inspection reports and maintaining accurate project documentation
- Participating in project meetings and providing expert advice on construction methods and materials
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma plus 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
- US Citizenship is required, due to the nature of the work
- Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices; a Motor Vehicle Records review will be required upon hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in inspection of building construction
- Experience in performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests
- Four (4) years of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
- CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $32 to $55 per hour.
