Job DescriptionWe are seeking an Architecture Manager to join our growing Buildings + Places team in our Tampa, FL office. We seek qualified candidates at a senior level of experience in architectural practice and building design and engineering, able to provide leadership for all stages of projects, guiding projects, teams, and clients. You may be the ideal candidate if you are a seasoned architect passionate about developing quality architecture through design and documentation.
Candidates should possess a high level of technical expertise for project design development and engineering, thoroughness of design documents, constructability, and quality control. The role will have responsibility and opportunity for mentoring and advising a team of architects/engineers and provide a senior‑level depth of industry experience.
Job Responsibilities- Supports, oversees and coordinates architecture activities for an operating unit.
- Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative.
- Initiates and maintains contact with senior‑level management within the company; skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues.
- Serves as a professional specialist for the organization in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes.
- Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving routine and unusual operations problems; determines operational objectives and requirements.
- Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives.
- Leads training and evaluation of assigned personnel, standards, and processes.
- Assists in regional development of architectural methods and techniques.
- Collaborates with building engineers, specialists, landscape architects, civil engineers, and similar disciplines to identify and maintain best practices.
- Provides support and leadership to others in achieving the technical objectives of the overall work effort.
- Develops relationships with vendors, suppliers, contractors for product and construction knowledge.
- Advises and supports RFP pursuits and/or areas of specialization.
- BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Recent relevant experience as a Senior level Project Architect/Technical Architect.
- Licensed Architect in the United States required.
- Experience in software platforms including Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Adobe, and/or similar.
- Demonstrated experience with constructability and building systems, solving constructability, engineering, means and methods, and creating clear documents/specifications to describe project design and construction requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in solving complex design intent and rationalizing constructability approach to solve design challenges.
- Previous experience leading and mentoring architectural/technical teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements including building codes, construction types, accessibility, and Life Safety.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Experience managing and evaluating design to budget, and leading value engineering efforts, permitting process and reviews, and projects from design development through construction and handover.
- Experience using Revit preferred.
- Experience leading client and team progress meetings.
