The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a full‑time clinical faculty position in Pediatric Emergency Medicine to provide patient care at Tampa General Hospital Emergency Department, which includes a 10‑bed Pediatric Emergency Department. The physician will join a dynamic academic medical center environment serving as a regional referral and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, affiliated with the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.
This fully clinical role focuses on delivering compassionate, evidence‑based emergency care for children while contributing to the department’s mission of excellence in education and clinical service.
- Provide clinical patient care at Tampa General Hospital Emergency Department.
- Report to a Chair or other higher‑level administrator of the state university.
- Engage in teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.
- Offer academic advising and related activities.
- Represent the university, college/school, or department as required.
- Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
- Meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
- For Associate/Full Professor: produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
- Hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or equivalent foreign license.
- Maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals assigned to perform clinical duties.
- Participate in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine.
- Be board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
