The Writing Coach/Resource Teacher will maintain and monitor the implementation of the writing/language arts program, including professional development of school personnel.

Summary

The Writing Coach/Resource Teacher is responsible for ensuring the comprehensive instruction of writing/language arts standards within the school, as well as compliance with Full‐Time Equivalency (FTE) rules and guidelines from the Florida Department of Education and the United States Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and monitors implementation of Hillsborough County Public Schools’ Writing/Language Arts Program Guidelines and Procedures.
• Assists with the implementation of district initiatives in the area of writing/language arts.
• Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of best practices in writing/language arts instruction across content areas.
• Serves as a resource to the school for writing/language‐related strategies and materials to increase achievement.
• Assists teachers in implementing standards across the writing/language arts/language arts subject area.
• Develops and conducts professional development for targeted audiences, including classroom teachers, in the content area of writing/language arts instruction.
• Provides coaching to targeted audiences in order to improve writing/language arts instruction, classroom organization and management, and effective implementation of district‐provided resources.

Requirements

• Education:
  
  A bachelor’s degree. Degree or formal training in education preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Three years of increasingly responsible experience in classroom teaching, with two years of related management or supervisory experience required.
• Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
  Florida Professional Educator Certificate.
