Event Manager (Finance)
The Student Success division at the University of South Florida (USF), is comprised of 60 departments, providing students with academic support, engagement opportunities, health & wellness services and enhancement of educational experience. The Office of Admissions is responsible for recruitment, admission, and enrollment of domestic and international & graduate students at the University of South Florida. Approximately 79,000 admission applications (39,000 freshman, 22,000 transfer, and 18,000 graduate) are processed and evaluated each year, augmented by academic credentials (e.g. high school and/or post‑secondary transcripts, test scores, residency affidavits, etc.)
for each applicant. The Event Manager is a professional services role which requires strong organizational and customer service skills, as well as a deep understanding of event management. The primary function of the role is to support the Associate Director, Campus Visitation in successfully planning, executing and managing campus visits and campus events on behalf of the Office of Admissions and various campus partners to support enrollment goals.
- Responsible for managing the strategy and planning of University meetings, conferences, and/or special events, including social, educational, entertainment, and fundraising events.
- Monitors and controls event budgets and negotiates all necessary contracts.
- Oversees and coordinates all amenities and accommodations related to the event, including facilities, room set up, lighting/sound, safety/security, and personnel needed for each event.
- May facilitate production of events by coordinating with performing groups, arranging publicity, etc.
- May develop and strengthen campus and regional alumni programs; plan/implement major homecoming and reunion events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and four years experience or a combination of post‑high school education and experience equal to eight years.
Degree Equivalency Clause:
Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

- (c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;
- (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree;
- (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
- Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
- Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
This position may be subject to a Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check.
