Berkeley Preparatory School is seeking a full‑time early childhood music teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year, teaching students in pre‑Kindergarten through first grade.

Founded in 1960, Berkeley Preparatory School is a co‑educational, Episcopal‑affiliated, independent college preparatory school with an enrollment of 1,470 students in grades Pre‑K through 12. The campus spans 86 acres and features 29 state‑of‑the‑art buildings. Berkeley focuses on educating the whole child, nurturing intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and physical development, and fostering an inclusive and diverse learning community.

• Training in the Orff Schulwerk approach (or similar) and proficiency on piano or keyboard.
• Bachelor’s degree in Music or Education and experience teaching in an elementary music program.
• A good sense of humor, positive outlook, and appreciation for the unique qualities of early childhood.
• Willingness to receive regular feedback, grow professionally, significantly contribute to school life, and work in a culturally and ethnically diverse environment.

The appointment begins August 2026 and is a full‑time position with full benefits. The compensation package will be competitive nationally and commensurate with experience, degree attainment, and the independent school market. All inquiries and nominations are kept confidential.
