Work Schedule: Part‑time, hours per week depend on commitment hours selected, schedule will
fall Monday‑Friday anywhere between 7:40 am and 6:00 pm and Saturdays; 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Who Are We?Re Definers World Languages is a pioneering non‑profit organization with the goal of developing
a compassionate community of global citizens, who are both economically and socially
responsible, through world language and experiences that promote global understanding and
connection. Education in global communication is paramount in developing cognitive skills,
creating opportunities for upward mobility, and establishing a foundation to excel in an ever
increasing globalized society. We strive to provide language learning opportunities in Arabic,
English, Spanish and Mandarin through our programs and courses for adults and children
regardless of socioeconomic background.
Provide 1:1 academic tutoring to Kindergarten‑5th grade students, with a focus on Literacy Development.
Duties & Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and conduct dynamic, student-centered, 1‑hour tutoring sessions in English that follow established guidelines
- Record and complete student progress reports after each session
- Submit all student daily reports to program coordinator
- Submit hours worked at the end of each shift
- Complete and submit weekly updates to the program coordinator
- Provide 5‑10 minute debrief with caregiver in English or Spanish at the end of each tutoring session to communicate student progress
- Commit to arriving on time and prepared for each tutoring session
- Commit to regular training and professional development
- Participate in team meetings
- Participate in quarterly team gatherings
- Complete all required trainings
- Engage in approved fundraising activities to support Academic Achievers Program
- Teleservice support, as needed
- Complete (450, 675 or 900 hours, depending on selection) of service each year in service
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing program literacy events
- Tutor training
- Weekly digital literacy and professional development training
- Resource guidance
- Collaborative team environment
- Native or Highly Proficient Speaker of English required
- Native or Highly Proficient Speaker of Spanish preferred
- Experience working with students ages 5-12 preferred
- Reliable transportation required
- Highly organized
- Able to express and garner enthusiasm about reading with young children
- Highly energetic
- Willing to learn to use online tools to enhance student success
- Proficient with computers
- Must complete a level FBI II background clearance & National Sex Offender Clearance
- Available to maintain a regular work schedule per week
- Must be a United States citizen, a United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien and at least 17 years of age at the start of service
