About This Role
This role focuses on providing instruction to C‑130/L‑382 pilots through flight and performance manual subjects, flight rules, crew resource management, night vision systems and simulator training. It involves curriculum development, lesson planning, evaluation reporting, navigation of simulator instructor station and safe training practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide C‑130/L‑382 instruction in flight and performance manual subjects.
- Provide instruction in flight rules, crew resource management and night vision systems.
- Ensure all instruction is conducted with safety as the number one priority.
- Develop curriculum, syllabus, lesson plan and courseware for courses.
- Generate post training evaluation reports.
- Direct, coordinate and lead all activity for the aircrew during simulator training sessions.
- Operate simulator Instructor Operator Station (IOS) during simulator training sessions.
- Maintain a current level of knowledge by attending training courses and self‑study.
- Hold credibility and the attention of customer attendees.
- Display excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Clearly express procedures, physical processes and concepts to domestic and international customers.
- Maintain math skills necessary for flight plans, fuel consumption calculations and other performance calculations.
- Display sufficient intellectual and personal skills to evaluate, and where necessary, re‑direct students.
- Maintain proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Work a flexible schedule.
- Minimum of seven years’ experience as a pilot and three years’ experience as a C‑130/L‑382 Aircraft Pilot Instructor.
- Minimum of 2,500 hours of flight time as a C‑130/L‑382 Pilot.
- Minimum 4‑year college degree or recognized equivalent.
- Previous experience in curriculum development.
- Ability to hold credibility and keep the attention of customer attendees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Clearly express procedures and concepts to domestic and international customers.
- Math skills for flight plan and fuel calculations.
- Intellectual and personal skills to evaluate and re‑direct attendees.
- Detail oriented.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Night Vision Goggle (NVG) experience.
- Airdrop experience.
- Bi‑lingual (English and Spanish).
- Provide US military or civil airline records of prior flight and/or simulator time.
- Comply with company security and data protection policies and procedures.
- Properly mark and handle information and materials, respecting need‑to‑know principles.
- Do not divulge information outside the company without management approval.
- This position operates in office, classroom, and simulator environments, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- Ability to travel abroad for extended assignments.
- Ability to stand and conduct instruction up to eight hours per day.
- Tolerance of simulation vibration and acoustic environment.
- Climbing stairs to enter/exit simulator.
- Sitting in an instructional aircraft chair, lifting hands above head, and reaching controls.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
