This position is for Secondary Mathematics within the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program. The Teacher, ESE is responsible for the instruction of all areas of ESE in a classroom setting.
Responsibilities- Designs and implements appropriate Specially Designed Instruction, accommodations, and supports in accordance with state standards, district curriculum, and students’ needs.
- Develops and implements Individual Educational Plans (IEP) including present levels of performance, needs, goals, objectives, and required services.
- Creates a positive educational climate for students with disabilities to learn with respect and rapport.
- Employs various teaching techniques and methods to enable students to meet IEP goals.
- Observes and evaluates student performance, monitors assessment data, and maintains student records.
- Manages behavior using effective classroom management strategies, positive behavior supports, and evidence-based interventions, with appropriate disciplinary procedures.
- Communicates with parents and school/district personnel regarding student progress and encourages parental involvement.
- Ensures health and safety of students and protects equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Provides oversight to paraprofessionals and maintains confidentiality of records and data.
- Attends workshops and trainings to advance ESE knowledge and skills; maintains required certifications and development hours.
- Performs other duties as assigned; understands duties may change to meet district needs.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education;
Florida Temporary Certificate may be required. Language, Math, Reasoning, and Computer skills as appropriate for the role.
