Job DescriptionThis position reports to the Director or other appropriate administrator. This is professional work in college admissions requiring considerable contact with prospective or newly admitted students. The Admissions Recruiter/Advisor is a complex administrative position that should maintain extensive knowledge of university admission requirements, policies and procedures in order to interpret those regarding admissions. Incumbents must be able to implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy within a specific territory or specific population of students and advise students on enrollment requirements.
There is travel, the candidate must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Host regular information sessions both virtual and in-person
- Attend events such as fairs and others to network with prospects
- Engage with prospects
- Advise/assist on admission criteria and process
- Coordinate with Muma Graduate office and collaborate on above
- Assist prospects with applying
- Maintain regular engagement with prospects and applicants to ensure high yield
- Register when appropriate and assist others involved in registration
- Hold information sessions to onboard students
- Manage and host orientation sessions for new students
- Connect students to mentors
- Assist with professional development and placement activities
- Occasionally advises students on progress in the program(s) and course selection
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Alternatively, in specialized academic areas, the position may require a degree in that field of study. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this position.
Degree Equivalency Clause:
Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.

- (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
- (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
- (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
- Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
- Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
