Overview
The Department of Economics at the University of South Florida (Tampa Campus) seeks to fill a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure earning Assistant Professor of Instruction position, with a start date of August 7, 2026. Salary is negotiable. Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Economics is required. Applications from ABD candidates will be accepted, but the degree must be conferred by appointment start date.
Candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction. The ability to teach Mathematical Economics, Econometrics, and advanced theory courses on the undergraduate level is preferred. The conclusion of this search is subject to final budget approval.
The position supports undergraduate teaching commitments in Economics. Specific duties include delivering high-quality undergraduate courses in Mathematical Economics, Econometrics, and advanced theory. The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s teaching mission and participate in service as appropriate to an instructional track faculty role.
Qualifications- Ph.D. in Economics from an accredited institution required; ABD candidates considered with the degree conferred by the start date.
- Strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
- Ability to teach Mathematical Economics, Econometrics, and advanced undergraduate theory courses is preferred.
