Role DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) / ICs Instructor for a short-term training delivery engagement in the Tampa, FL area
.
This role is responsible for co-facilitating and delivering an 8-hour HICS Basic Course to hospital, municipal, and public safety personnel. The ideal candidate will present standard HICS/NIMS concepts, guide adult learners through practical HICS form completion (e.g., HICS 201, 202, 203, 204), and facilitate interactive, scenario-based tabletop exercises involving EOC coordination.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver interactive classroom instruction covering core HICS 5th Edition principles, command roles, and operational planning tools.
- Facilitate hands-on tabletop simulation scenarios applicable to regional healthcare emergency response (e.g., surge capacity, utility outages, mass casualty events).
- Guide participants through Incident Action Planning (IAP) workflows and HICS form management.
- Provide constructive feedback and foster discussion during debrief/hot wash evaluations.
- Strong knowledge of NIMS/ICS core concepts (ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-300) and HICS 5th Edition guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating emergency management, hospital safety, or public safety tabletop exercises.
- Prior background as an emergency manager, hospital safety/disaster coordinator, public safety trainer, or certified FEMA/ICS instructor.
- Excellent presentation and adult instruction skills, with the ability to engage multi-disciplinary healthcare and municipal leadership.
- Ability to deliver on-site training sessions in Tampa, FL.
