• Provide marine structural engineering related design, analysis, and studies for domestic and international marine, coastal and heavy civil projects.
• Specific experience in design and inspection of marine structures including docks, marinas, wharves, piers, steel, timber and concrete pile structures, floating structures, breakwaters, seawalls, bulkheads, and waterfront facilities.
• Experience with design hydraulic structures will be a plus.
• Function as a technical leader in a regional practice lead capacity, implementing engineering strategy and advising on national practice strategy on Coast and Flood Infrastructure projects.
• Execute assigned projects and mentor younger professionals.

As part of BV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects that support our 3 market sectors:
Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. You will engage with exciting projects across the globe, from small community improvements to grand-scale Mega Projects.

• Guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies. May own, maintain, update, or develop engineering standards and guides. Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects or disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with B&V quality program. Establish related processes and promote a culture conducive to quality. Support continuous improvement, change management and risk management efforts.
• Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects. Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Manage data collection and analysis for engineering work.
• Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Manage budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Develop and apply advanced engineering solutions to complex problems. Ensure project teams delegate tasks appropriately and review lower level work. Establish work plans for projects.
• Coordinate with internal/external team members on complex projects. Define project schedules for single or multiple disciplines.
• Identify client interests and drivers and communicate them to the project team; develop approaches to address these concerns in project performance.
• Identify future client needs and position B&V for the future. Support business development or pursuit activities.
• Serve as a technical specialist in a broad or specialized field. Develop and apply advanced engineering concepts to unique problems. Support multiple projects on complex challenges. May involve leadership roles and mentoring of staff.
• Oversee performance management, career planning, recognition, learning and development, and related actions. May participate in compensation management and workforce planning. Mentor lower and mid-level professionals and identify successors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Prior experience as a Marine Structural Engineer
• Licensed PE or ability/interest to obtain PE and/or active pursuit of registration

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience

Certifications

• Professional engineering registration is preferred or in active pursuit
