Roadway Designer

Overview

Our Tampa, Florida (FL) office is looking for a Civil Operator or Designer with 6+ years of experience to join our Roadway team!

• Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards
• Develop technical drawings and plans
• Prepare drawings and plans of substantial complexity and perform multifaceted calculations as needed
• Perform day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision
• Apply knowledge of engineering principles and suggest design changes
• Maintain drawing database
• Supervise and train CAD staff
• Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards

• 6+ years of relevant experience
• High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred)
• Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Bentley products
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills, and desire to learn
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Willingness to mentor and teach others
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
