The Structural Engineer plays a key role responsible for evaluation of existing conditions, design of structural repair and envelope of protection systems, management of bidding and construction processes, field observation/verification of work in process, and close client and contractor interaction.

• Perform structural inspections regarding the following structural elements: concrete masonry units (CMU), cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, post-tension cables, precast/prestress members, structural steel, and wood framing.
• Read and understand structural plans and specifications.
• Report data in a complete, timely, and understandable fashion.
• Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
• Perform forensic investigations to determine the cause and origin of damage to residential and commercial buildings and provide detailed forensic engineering reports.
• Research technical publications and literature in support of evaluations, applying engineering principles and practices in accordance with codes and industry standards.
• Manage multiple projects and assume responsibility for project execution within time frames.
• Communicate with administrative staff and clients to provide timelines and project updates consistently.
• Prepare structural calculations by hand and using structural engineering software.
• Prepare structural drawings using AutoCAD.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to climb ladders and conduct inspections at heights, including in attics and crawlspaces. Must be able to kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
• Ability to solve practical problems and effectively communicate, interpreting a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering (Structural Emphasis).
• E.I. (Engineering Intern) or ability to obtain within six months after hiring by passing the FE Exam.

• Internship experience in structural engineering.
• Experience in AutoCAD.

• Required to drive, stand, walk, use hands to type, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; talk, and hear. Body motions and movements include bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, pulling, kneeling, lifting, carrying, and pushing, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Lifting and/or moving up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Job is located in Florida, with exposure to intense sun, heat, humidity, rain, thunderstorms, and other adverse weather conditions.
• Job site conditions may or may not be accessible by vehicle and can include wetlands, swamps, grasslands, and fields with uneven surfaces, sand, brush, and other natural and man‑made obstacles.
• Exposed to outside weather conditions and construction sites with moderate to loud noise levels.
