Summary

The Systems Architect performs technical planning, system design, integration, verification and validation, cost, risk, supportability and effectiveness analyses for total training systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Interface with all stakeholders to ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.

Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support throughout Business Development Lead to Award process
  • Lead the technical solution activities and be the overall design authority during the Capture and Proposal phase of a program and continue through Detailed Design phase after award
  • Author and coordinate technical content for proposals
  • Ensure system architecture adheres to security, interoperability, and performance standards plus cost targets
  • Select appropriate technologies and tools that best meet system requirements, considering IRAD, scalability, sustainability, and cost
  • Analyze the system to ensure it meets performance requirements (flight performance, stability, weight, power, timing, human factors, throughput, etc.)
  • Provide system‑level decision making regarding trade‑offs (cost vs performance)
  • Create the product line roadmap in compliance with the technology roadmap, reference architectures, and functional product roadmaps
  • Coordinate new technology investment and insertion into product line based on customer needs
  • Define how the training system can be structured to best comply with the Customer Requirements, including extent of reuse of existing components and equipment
  • Identify risk and cost driving design issues to support Solution Development, Project Planning, Monitoring & Control and Risk Management processes
  • Work closely with program, product and functional management to guide technical direction and meet schedule and cost requirements
  • Stay current in industry advances. Research new simulation methods, technologies and system architectures
  • Represent CAE USA at industry technical forums and customer oral presentations
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Mastery level knowledge within a specific technical area or multiple job areas typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Viewed as an expert and/or resource within the field by peers in and outside the organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Airlift/Tanker aircraft, specifically C130 (including H and J variants) and KC-135
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) utilizing Cameo and/or Rhapsody
