We are seeking a full-time CEI Senior Project Engineer/Resident Engineer to join our team in Tampa/Wellington, Florida (in-office). In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing multi-million-dollar construction projects, ensuring their successful delivery. You will act as the primary liaison between contractors and the Client/Owner, representing the Owner on FDOT projects. This position requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and extensive experience in construction engineering and inspection (CEI).
Key Responsibilities- Responsibility for the overall management and successful delivery of multi-million-dollar projects
- Acting as the primary liaison with contractor(s) on behalf of the Client/Owner, as part of a CEI team representing the Owner
- Leading a project team consisting of project controllers and inspectors responsible for contract administration and construction materials testing
- Managing day-to-day activities such as progress meetings, submittal and RFI reviews, contractor pay applications, quality assurance testing and inspection, schedule reviews, and progress reporting
- Coordinating with designers to resolve technical/engineering issues
- Perform other duties as needed
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in State of Florida
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- 10 years of related experience in various aspects of construction, including:
Estimating, Bidding, Preparing purchase orders and subcontracts, Scheduling, Field engineering - Prior Resident Engineer experience on FDOT projects
- Experience developing and managing construction engineering and inspection programs
- Thorough knowledge of FDOT standards, requirements, and procedures
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Bluebeam, estimating & scheduling software, and web-based document collaboration software
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and people skills
