Senior Traffic Engineer / Traffic Modeler

We are seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer / Traffic Modeler with at least five years of professional experience to join our transportation team. The role includes traffic signal design, traffic analysis, signing and pavement marking design, and support of design efforts for the Transportation group. Applicants with strong background in Florida DOT and county design policies and procedures are preferred. Potential for additional responsibilities in our growing southern regions including North Carolina, Louisiana, and Texas.

Responsibilities
  • Provide traffic signal, signing and striping design and EOR duties on signalization and S&PM plan sets.
  • Perform intersection and roadway capacity analyses using HCS, Synchro, and Sim Traffic software, and prepare traffic impact studies.
  • Oversee creation of engineering documents, design reports, and variation/exception reports.
  • Provide support to local and regional offices.
  • Coordinate plans, calculations, and specifications among multi‑discipline engineering teams.
  • Execute internal quality control procedures.
  • Market services to current and prospective clients and assist in creation of letters of response and technical proposals/presentations (preferred).
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four‑year college.
  • Florida Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain.
  • PTOE certification is a plus.
  • Minimum five years of experience.
  • Knowledge of FDOT plan preparation criteria and design standards.
  • Knowledge of other transportation disciplines and their relationship to traffic design.
  • Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor entry‑level staff.
