* recognition, professional development, advancement and having fun! Summary CAE USA is seeking a highly motivated logistics sustainment engineer to join our Logistics Engineering team. This role is critical to establishing lifecycle logistics processes, provisioning strategies, and sustainment infrastructure with focus on reliability, maintainability, obsolescence management that ensures supportability, readiness, and lifecycle sustainment for all CAE USA training devices. The logistics sustainment engineer will leverage a strong background in engineering and field support to maximize product supportability from the design through sustainment phases.
The logistics sustainment engineer will support continuous reliability, maintainability, and obsolescence improvement initiatives in engineering and operations. The sustainment engineer will work closely with engineering, program management, parts management, and purchasing teams to align logistics deliverables with program objectives and customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. As a Logistics Sustainment Engineer, you will lead or contribute to the following areas:
Obsolescence Management & Operational Readiness
* Act as the technical point of contact for reliability, maintainability, and obsolescence management issues affecting CAE USA training devices and components.
* Provide technical guidance for corrective actions due to component obsolescence, spare parts planning, and troubleshooting complex obsolescence issues in the field.
* Coordinate with program managers, engineers, and customers to ensure system uptime and reliability and maintainability requirements are achieved.
* Supportability of training systems through the complete system lifecycle Reliability and Maintainability
* Primary responsibilities include designing and developing methods to improve and maintain the reliability of our systems and processes.
* Identify potential issues and the ability to develop and implement effective solutions to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of our systems and processes.
* Conduct risk and failure mode analysis to support project teams
* Verify that parts, materials, and processes meet system requirements through the use of a management plan detailing reliability risk considerations and evaluation strategies for the intended service life. Field Reliability & Sustainment
* Monitor, measure, and analyze system reliability performance across deployed platforms.
* Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) of field issues.
* Drive root cause analysis of systems, subsystems, and component failures
* Understanding of sustainment readiness metrics (MTBF, MTTR, uptime, service responsiveness) and how they gauge system performance and efficiency Cross-Functional Engineering Collaboration
* Partner with design, manufacturing, and engineering teams to drive continuous product improvements.
* Translate field performance data into actionable engineering change orders (ECOs) and design-for-reliability / design-for-supportability recommendations.
* Support new product introduction (NPI) by defining sustainment requirements, field readiness plans, and lifecycle support strategies. Qualifications and Education Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, or systems engineering. Master's degree preferred.
* 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in roles such as Reliability Engineer, Field Support Engineer, Sustainment Engineer, Hardware Reliability Manager, or related positions
* Proven expertise in reliability engineering tools and field issue resolution.
* Knowledge of PLM & CMMS systems for tracking parts inventory and maintenance work orders
* Excellent communication, cross-functional coordination, and customer-facing skills Preferred Skills
