About Our Design TeamBeryl Project Engineering's design divisionbased in Tampa since 2012delivers full-spectrum structural engineering for residential and commercial new construction, remodels, and specialized structural projects across Floridas Gulf Coast.
Our licensed engineers and drafters collaborate closely with contractors, architects, and homeowners to design solutions that are technically sound, code-compliant, and build-ready. Services include :
- New Construction Design Plans : including foundations, framing systems, roof layouts, and structural detailing.
- Residential Remodel & Renovation : covering additions, wall removals, attic upgrades, and full-home transformations.
- Specialty Structural Design : rafter systems, foundations, retaining walls, pool structures, and solar panel support.
- Tall Building and Commercial Design : including structural systems for high-rise condominium buildings and steel commercial construction.
- Construction Partnerships : seamless coordination with builders, roofers, and other contractors to support permitting and execution.

What Youll Do- Lead and mentor a team of engineers-in-training and junior staff, helping them grow in structural expertise and confidence.
- Oversee residential and commercial structural design projects from concepts and code interpretation to plan sets and client support.
- Review and approve third-party plans for building departments, ensuring compliance with Florida Building Code.
- Collaborate with design assistants, drafters, inspectors, and project leads to keep work flowing and deadlines met.
- Represent Beryl in permitting conversations, client meetings, and internal discussions as a technical authority and team-builder.
- Help evolve team systems, training plans, and technical qualitybringing structure to our structures.
- 710+ years of structural engineering experience (residential and / or commercial)
- Skilled in structural design and knowledgeable in the Florida Building Code
- Comfortable leading others and communicating with clients, contractors, and officials
- Experienced (or ready to learn) in plan review for municipalities or third-party permitting
- Tech-comfortable and curiousespecially with project tracking tools
- A Florida PE license (required)
- Proven experience in residential elevation projects suchas FEMAs Flood Mitigation Assistance or Floridas Elevate Florida programs to raise homes above flood levels and enhance community resilience
- Residential design portfolio in Florida
