Orion Engineering is actively expanding its Structural Engineering team to support continued growth in marine, waterfront, and heavy civil infrastructure projects. We are currently hiring for the following roles:

Orion Engineering has an immediate opening for a Marine Structural Engineer to support the design, execution, and growth of complex marine infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for providing senior‑level structural engineering expertise while also playing a key role in client development, proposal leadership, and business growth across Orion and its affiliates.
Typical projects include port and terminal facilities, wharves, bridges, causeways, bulkheads, docks, piers, marinas, cruise terminals, and liquid or bulk cargo facilities
. The Senior Marine Structural Engineer will lead and mentor engineers, collaborate closely with Project Managers and Business Development teams, and serve as a technical and client‑facing leader within the organization.
This position works closely with the VP of Engineering, Business Development Managers, Project Managers, and external clients to deliver safe, high‑quality engineering solutions while advancing Orion’s long‑term strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Engineering- Perform advanced structural analysis and design for new and existing marine structures, including bulkheads, sheet pile walls, retaining walls, concrete wharves, and mooring/breasting dolphins
- Utilize industry‑standard software such as LPile, DeepEX, CWALLSHT, SAP, and STAAD to support design and finite element modeling
- Provide expert technical guidance on safe design, constructability, and engineering best practices
- Review and approve project documents for accuracy, quality, and compliance
- Develop and implement improved engineering methods, tools, and processes
- Prepare bid packages including drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates
- Mentor and guide senior and junior engineers through technical leadership and professional development
- Participate in hiring, performance evaluation, and development planning for engineering staff
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure successful delivery of assigned projects
- Serve as a primary technical liaison for clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Lead or support proposal development
, including scope definition, budgeting, pricing, and scheduling - Prepare and submit pre‑qualification packages
, negotiate contracts, and present proposals to clients - Build, maintain, and expand long‑term client relationships
- Identify and evaluate new business and project opportunities aligned with Orion’s strategic goals
- Represent Orion Engineering at industry conferences, symposiums, and networking events
- Review and approve scopes of work, budgets, and schedules
- Provide technical input during project planning and execution phases
- Perform additional administrative, technical, or training‑related duties as assigned
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all company, client, and proprietary information
- Take personal responsibility for safety and the safety of coworkers and others on site
