Mechanical Design Engineer

Location:
West Florida

A growing manufacturer of automated industrial equipment is looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to its engineering team in West Florida.

This role focuses on the design and development of custom automated machinery used in high-volume manufacturing environments. You will work closely with controls engineers and manufacturing teams to take equipment from concept through build and testing.

• Design custom mechanical systems for automated machinery
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings using Solid Works
• Develop BOMs and support equipment builds on the production floor
• Collaborate with controls engineers to ensure proper mechanical and electrical integration
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and continuous design improvements
• Work in a hands‑on environment where designs are built and tested in‑house

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 3–5+ years of experience designing automated machinery or custom equipment
• Packaging machinery experience strongly preferred
• Strong Solid Works experience with complex assemblies
• Understanding of pneumatics, motion systems, conveyors, and industrial machine design
• Comfortable working closely with manufacturing and assembly teams

• Competitive salary typically in the $90,000–$140,000 range
