Controls/Automation Engineer
A well‑established manufacturer of automated industrial equipment is seeking an experienced Controls/Automation Engineer to join its engineering team in West Florida. This role focuses on designing, programming, and commissioning control systems for custom automated machinery used in manufacturing and packaging environments. Relocation to the West Florida area is required.
What You’ll Be Doing- Program and support PLC and HMI systems for automated machinery
- Integrate servo motion, drives, sensors, and safety systems
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and technicians during machine builds
- Support machine testing, debugging, and customer startup activities
- Assist with electrical design, standards compliance, and system documentation
- Troubleshoot automation issues during build and field startup
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or similar
- 3–5+ years of controls or automation experience in an OEM or machinery environment
- Experience with PLCs and HMIs such as Allen‑Bradley or Siemens
- Exposure to servo motion control and industrial networking
- Willingness to relocate to the West Florida area
- Packaging machinery or automated equipment experience preferred
- Competitive salary typically in the $90,000–$140,000 range, depending on experience
