Base pay range

Engineer, Asset Management ensures the safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of power generation and delivery systems. This role provides technical leadership, supervises engineering and technical teams, and leads reliability initiatives. Responsibilities include supporting capital projects, developing systems and analytics to detect and mitigate reliability risks, and ensuring compliance with NERC and OATT standards. The position involves working with electrical assets such as generators, motors, transformers, switch gear, batteries, and emergency generators.

Education
  • Required: Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college or university
  • Preferred: Electrical Engineering degree
  • Additional coursework in Reliability Engineering, Statistics, Multi-Discipline Engineering, or Analytics
Licenses/Certifications
  • Preferred: Fundamentals of Engineering (FE), Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Certifications related to Electrical System Reliability and Asset Management
Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of related engineering experience in electric utility power plant engineering
  • Preferred: 3 years performing duties of this position
  • Minimum 12 years of related engineering experience
  • Minimum 5 years performing duties of this position (10 years preferred)
Knowledge/Skills
  • Required
    :
    Expertise in electrical system reliability and asset management
  • Preferred
    :
    Knowledge of electrical equipment (rotating equipment, transformers, inverters, switch gear, protection), NERC compliance, reliability engineering best practices
Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise engineers, technicians, and analysts to support electrical system integrity and NERC compliance
  • Develop systems, models, and analytics to monitor asset health, predict failures, and optimize reliability strategies
  • Create proactive mitigation plans for system and asset failures, including maintenance, capital investment, and spares
  • Provide technical guidance for outage and project management, equipment design, procurement, and installation
  • Lead reliability teams and projects to implement sustainable asset management processes
  • Assess grid systems and assets using inspections, measurements, and analytics
  • Develop and deliver training on electrical system reliability and asset management; share lessons learned across facilities
  • Respond to major outages and support expedited return to service
  • Manage the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) program and coordinate with Energy Delivery departments
