Position Summary:
Design, Build, and Deploy Cutting-Edge Tech

Join a veteran-owned technology leader whose core mission is "Supporting Those Who Serve" in Public Safety, Government, and Defense. We are seeking a full-time,
hands-on Mechanical Engineer to be a core contributor to the development of our advanced robotics, drones, and electromechanical systems in Tampa, FL
.

This role is for an engineer who thrives outside of the cubicle—it demands both deep CAD proficiency and active,
cross-functional collaboration in the lab. You'll move beyond traditional design into prototyping, assembly, system integration, and even field-testing the final product.

What Youll Be Doing:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

You will manage the mechanical lifecycle from concept to deployment:

Mechanical Design & Engineering

  • Design & Development: Create and develop robust mechanical systems using CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Fusion 360).
  • Validation: Perform mechanical simulations and design validation; optimize components for performance and manufacturability.

Prototype Assembly & Integration

  • Hands-On Build: Directly build and assemble mechanical systems and integrate basic electrical components.
  • Troubleshooting: Work hands-on with sensors, actuators, PCBs, and actively troubleshoot electromechanical systems alongside electrical and software teams.

Field Deployment & Technical Support

  • Testing & Demos:
    Pilot drones and robotic systems during critical field testing, demos, and training exercises.
  • Public Engagement: Assist with setup, teardown, and engaging with the public during live demonstrations and trade shows (willingness to travel up to 25% is preferred).

Sourcing & Documentation

  • Sourcing: Source and evaluate materials, components, and collaborate with suppliers.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed design files, version tracking, and write/update assembly procedures and technical documents.
Requirements & What Youll Bring
  • Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Software:
    Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Fusion 360).
  • Skills: Proven experience in prototyping, fabrication, and hands-on assembly
    .
  • Knowledge: Basic knowledge of electrical interfaces, PCBs, and mechatronic systems
    ; strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Required for Consideration
  • Must be willing to work 100% in-person in Tampa, FL
    .
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in robotics, drones, or advanced electromechanical systems
    .
  • Familiarity with 3D printing, CNC machining, and rapid prototyping
    .
  • Ability to solder wires and PCBs.
  • Understanding of RF systems, LoRa, or embedded electronics.
