Overview

Our Tampa, FL office is actively searching for an entry-level Engineer with Structural focus and interest in waterfront/marine engineering. As the successful new hire, you will perform planning and design for waterfront structures projects, including heavy lift cargo ports, marine terminals, vessel mooring and berthing structures, bulkheads, marinas and bridge protection structures.

The ideal candidate will have structural analysis and modeling experience.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Analysis, design, inspection of waterfront structures, asset management, and other maritime projects
  • Structural analysis and design with timber, steel, concrete and composite materials
  • Prestressed concrete analysis and design
  • Develop plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed
  • Help resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project
  • Calculate construction quantity estimates
  • Work closely with other architects, engineers, scientists, project managers, etc. on multi-discipline projects
  • Review shop drawings and technical submittals for construction support services
  • Perform construction site inspections and prepare inspection reports

Qualifications
  • Education/

    Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with Structural coursework preferred;
    • 2 to 4 years of structural engineering experience working in a civil/structural design firm is strongly preferred. Internship experience working in a civil/structural firm will be considered
    • OR: Master’s degree in Structural Engineering with structural internship experience
  • EIT required
  • Preferred experience using:
    • SAP
      2000 or STAAD
    • LPile
    • AutoCAD
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Due to client parameters, selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship and clear results of a thorough background check that may include but is not limited to credit and criminal history
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
