Distribution Engineer

Job Summary

WSP is currently seeking a Distribution Engineer for our Fort Lauderdale office. Locations considered:
Tampa, West Palm Beach, and Miami.

• Design and deliver overhead and underground electric distribution projects (4 kV‑35 kV), acting as the technical lead on medium‑complexity work packages.
• Provide engineering calculations, construction packages, and field support while coordinating with project managers, drafters, and client utilities.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

• BSEE or equivalent experience.
• Solid understanding of overhead (OH) and underground (UG) distribution design.
• CAD software experience.
• 4–10 years in distribution engineering.
• Strong background in both overhead (OH) and underground (UG) distribution design.
• Ability to independently handle feeder‑level OH and UG projects from scoping through Issued‑for‑Construction (IFC) with minimal oversight.
• Track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.

• EIT or PE (or progress toward).
• Utility standards experience (e.g., Duke, FPL, PG&E, TECO).
